Now, on the “Folder Options” window, click “View” tab, look for Advanced Settings. And under Advanced Settings uncheck “Hide extensions for known file types” (some Windows version would say “Show extensions for known file types”, in this case you will have to select/check this option)After that click “Apply” first then “OK” button. You will notice that the file you've just downloaded will now show its extension name ("filename.ZIP", Just right-click the file then select “Rename” and change the extension name from .zip to .jar
(Basically you can now change any type of file to whatever you desire… there would be an error though, i.e. changing an executable file to a document type like .exe -> .doc)
