this is why people gets the zip/rar (meta file) problem because you downloaded it with internet explorer, it tends to change archive (jar, zip, rar) files automatically. If it keeps happening use Mozilla or Opera or something instead of IE (Internet Explorer)

guys this is a really old version (1.6) and 2.2 is out now and these games work fine not much lag at all. If you open meboy on your computer and see the META file you need to do this... When you look at meboy if it is meboy.rar or meboy.zip change it to meboy.jar then open it on your phone. If that doestnt work go back to school hehe. it really is as easy as that.

Okay, here's the lowdown on all these file formats.

.zip,.rar are basically "compressed files". However, some of these compressed files are actually just renamed directly from .jar files. In order to get it to work

1) Open the file with winRAR

2) If you see manymany files and a META-INF folder, change the FILE FORMAT to jar.

3) Else, if you see a jar file inside the .zip/.rar, extract it.

4) Copy to phone.

5) Done.

6) BE CAREFUL TO ACTUALLY CHANGE THE FORMAT, A VERY GOOD PROGRAM TO DO SO IS WINRAR. It has a rename function showing you file extensions.

I just don't quite get this.

Let's say i've downloaded the blue version,

At my desktop I'm only capable to open the file ( pokemonmas_1resn91e.zip ) with winrar, and when I do, a list of files appear.

Now I'm confused what to do next. Or mabe I've alredy done something wrong!

I understand that I've got to have MeBoy running to get this to work, but shall i put in the PC, phone or both?

When I try to open MeBoy after downloading it I've got to use winrar again. Is this correct? winrar tells me that there had been an unexpected end of archive and it's a dead end from there.

Shall I get a working MeBoy and drag the blue version files into it? I have no idea!

I'd put great value if somebody could tell me what i'm doing wrong and how to do instead.

I don't know why so many have problems with installing games.

I have a Sony Ericsson K800i, i bought it one week ago. I have winxp sp2 and i use Mozilla Firefox.

1.I just download a game to my Pc

2.I connect my phone to pc in Phonemode

3. I transfer the Game to my Phone and install it.

That's all!!

i don't need to rename the file to .jar or something!! So that's the reason why i'm wondering that so many can't install games on theyr Phones.

It wont work with the NOKIA 6230 becuase the 6230 has a cap on the file-size of java games you can install. The 6230 can only install games of approx 160KB max. All gameboy emulator games will be over this limit.

u save in game then when u want to exit u need to unload it ( unload cart at more option) then u will go to the emulator screen (those new game,setting,show log,exit screen).

When u want load simply go back to the new game(in emulator screen to choose game not in the pokemon game). Hope it helps
